Hello friends…
Miss you all as I have been in San Francisco most this week! We have had this blog for a few weeks. So far only one other person has made a post and a few folks have made comments.
This blog can be a great way to share information, help each other juggle and just keep in touch if we all try to use it. This week I would use everyone’s help knowing what’s been going on since I have been gone.
Let me know if you want to keep this blog running or not.
Thanks, Maryann
Summit Celebration!
Don’t forget the Summit Celebration this weekend. It will be a blast.
RSVP deadline is tomorrow (Wednesday).
Hope to see you all there!
Fourth Grade State Test #2 – This week
The second state test is this week. I have not heard exact date so the assumption is Friday. I confirmed today that the kids will not have to spell the words this time. They will have to locate the state on the map. Here are the states:

Little Rock, Arkansas
Tallahassee, Florida
Atlanta, Georgia
Frankfort, Kentucky
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Jackson, Mississippi
Raleigh, North Carolina
Columbia, South Carolina
Nashville, Tennessee
Richmond, Virginia
Charleston, West Virginia
Week of October 20th
This week in sixth grade:
- MONDAY: Spanish dialogue quiz
- THURSDAY: Math boxes done
- THURSDAY: Vocab (6B)
- FRIDAY : Math test
- FRIDAY: Science test (solar energy unit)
Please add as I am doing this from memory.
Welcome back from break
Hope everyone had a nice break… I can’t believe it has only been one week since break. Last week had to be the longest week yet.
The kids have done a great job keeping up with all their work. How about us sixth grade mom’s jump back into the groove of sharing assignment information?
Post Fall Break Deliverables
To help us all with the prep before Fall Break, here are a list of items due right after Fall Break:
- Science project solar furnance complete (Tuesday, October 14th)
- Memior Treasure Chest project (Wednesday, October 15th)
- Literature “calendar” project (Thursday, October 16th)
- Science project write up on solar furnace (Friday, October 17th)
Regarding Fourth Grade Homework
Regarding 4th grade homework, does anyone have a good website or other resource for practicing the next set of states and capitals? Last week was a huge challenge for us. I’m curious to see how the kids did.
P.S. When I post a comment, what goes in the URI box?
Fourth Grade: State Quiz #2
The second state quiz will be on the SE states. Not sure the date of the quiz. Stay tuned.
Week of September 29th
We are now in Fall break count down mode. The most important thing for the sixth graders is to get progress on the Memior Treasure Chest project (October 15th) and Literature “calendar” project (October 16th). Both of these are due after Fall Break.
This week we have a quizes in:
- Social Studies – Wednesday
Remember to bring in a package of new socks… this is for the sock drive the kids are doing.
